I heard recently that in 1999, there were approximately 1600 jury trials in Ohio's 88 counties; in 2016, there were fewer than 300. The reasons, in short, are damage caps and the rise in use of alternative dispute resolution. I offer evaluative mediation for legal matters before or after an action has been filed in court. With experience in diverse areas of law and 15 years' experience as an administrative law magistrate, I can thoroughly analyze the strengths and weaknesses of your case, prior to filing or for settlement purposes. With videoconferencing (see below), this can be done from your home or office. Use the contact form to arrange for a consultation.
You can now arrange for a consultation by videoconference, and schedule the consultation online. I use the UberConference platform, which allows you to participate in a video conference using your e-mail or by telephone. I am also familiar with other platforms such as Skype and Microsoft Teams. To arrange for a consultation, click on "Log In" at the top of the page and follow the prompts to sign up by providing an e-mail address and password (or log in if you have already signed up). Hover over the down arrow to contact me or open a booking calendar. I will check the calendar and confirm. My calendar will be visible to you so that you can avoid schedule conflicts.
This will be my default method of scheduling and conducting consultations, even after the pandemic subsides. I can set up an in-person or telephone consultation by special arrangement.
Best wishes - be well.
